An Introduction

Hello and welcome!

For all of you who have just joined us this is a string of hubs in which I detail each of the colours in terms of what kind of energy they produce and how this affects our everyday lives. For a full explanation of colour therapy, please visit my hub 'Colour Therapy: What it is and how to use it.'

If you are new to hubpages and would like to know more please visit the hubpages community pages for more information.

Also, if you visit my profile page you will find a link to each of the other colours - just in case green isn't the one you are looking for.

If you are in the right place then brilliant! I hope you find out what you wanted to know!

The Colour Green

The colour green sits in the middle of the spectrum and is a mix of  the two primary colours yellow and blue. It is the colour of nature, of balance and peace. It is the perfect colour of growth and cycles.

In nature we see fresh bright green every spring that dies every winter; thus encouraging green as the colour of new beginnings. In our bodies, green is shown through the heart and lungs, through the blood and the blood vessels. In these area's our body echo's the cycle of nature by their continuous movement and flow. The hands are also expressed through this colour (one can be green-fingered) because of their ability to give and receive, to plant and to mend.

Green and You

On an emotional level the colour green reminds us of our connection to the planet on which we live. Where brown reminds one of the earthiness, green reminds you of all that is natural.

In this way, it is natural that the colour of cycle's remind us on an emotional level that life would be very boring if we always felt the same thing. We function in cycle's emotionally, as well as physically and even spiritually. Each has a distinct process. Each has a beginning, middle and end. Surrounding ourselves in a natural environment can help us to remind ourselves that we must accept these cyclic changes and live as best we can.

If you are not a fan of long walks in the country you can brighten up your natural balance by spending time gardening, or devote one room of your house entirely to green. An easier way to connect to nature is to decorate with house plants - just remember to water them!

Wearing a splash of green will reinforce your individuality - and if you have red hair the effect is striking. Green eye-shadow will draw particular attention to your eyes and it is always a good tip to match your accessories to your clothing.

An emerald or Jade necklace will serve as an adequate talisman to remind you constantly of the mysteries of nature.
